Litematica Server Paster Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I actually start pasting with this mod?
Load your schematic in Litematica, position and rotate the placement to match where you want it, then use the paste hotkey as normal. The mod intercepts the paste and sends the block, tile entity, and entity data through a custom chat packet instead of the vanilla command, so no extra step is needed beyond having the mod on both sides.
Why do my chests, signs, and spawners paste as empty blocks?
This almost always means the tile entity data isn't being sent, which happens when your Litematica settings aren't configured for this mod. Set commandUseWorldEdit to false and pasteNbtRestoreBehavior to None, then paste again — the NBT should now come through.
Do I need the mod on the server, or just the client?
You need it on both. The client-side Litematica generates the paste commands, but the server needs the mod to accept the extended chat packet and apply the full NBT data. Without it on the server, the extra data gets truncated or rejected.
Why does the block state paste but the NBT doesn't?
Litematica skips re-sending tile entity data when the block state at that position already matches the schematic. If the block is already the right type, break it first or paste into empty space so the full block plus NBT gets placed together.
Can I paste mobs, armor stands, and item frames with this?
Yes. Entity NBT is appended to /summon commands the same way tile entity data is appended to /setblock, so mobs with custom names, armor stands with poses, and item frames with items should all paste correctly as long as the mod is on both sides.
Does this work with WorldEdit installed?
It can conflict. Litematica's commandUseWorldEdit setting must be false for this mod to handle the paste, so if you rely on WorldEdit for other things, keep it installed but make sure that Litematica option is off.
Why am I getting a chat length or command error when pasting?
That error means the paste is going through the normal command path instead of the mod's custom chat packet. Check that the mod is loaded on the server and that your Litematica settings match what the mod requires, then restart both sides.
Is there a size limit on what I can paste?
The mod bypasses the vanilla chat length limit, so large NBT payloads that would normally fail can go through. Very large pastes may still be split or throttled by the server, so paste in sections if you hit issues.
Will this lag my server when pasting big builds?
Pasting sends many commands in a short window, so large schematics with lots of tile entities or entities can cause a spike. Paste in smaller sections or during low activity if the server is sensitive to command bursts.
I installed the mod but nothing pastes at all — what should I check?
Confirm the mod is on both client and server, that Litematica is loaded on the client, and that commandUseWorldEdit is false and pasteNbtRestoreBehavior is None. If those options don't exist in your Litematica version, update Litematica, since the mod depends on them.
