Configuration

Every setting in the mod config file, with what it changes.

OptionWhat it does
fontAtlasSizeAtlas Page SizeEdge length in pixels of one glyph atlas page. Larger pages fit more glyphs, so a screen full of text costs fewer draw calls.
textLayoutCacheCache Text LayoutReuse where each glyph goes between frames instead of working it out again every frame. Turn off only if text ever renders with the wrong styling.
sdfEmSizeDistance Field ResolutionPixel height one em is rasterized at when building the distance field. Higher keeps sharp corners sharper at large text sizes, at the cost of atlas space.
sdfSharpnessEdge SharpnessMultiplier on the width of the anti aliased edge. Above 1 is crisper, below 1 is softer.
fontRasterMaxSizeRaster Size LimitLargest text size, in device pixels, that will be rasterized at its drawn size. Anything larger uses the distance field instead. A text element's size works out to font size times GUI scale.
fontRasterEvictSecondsRaster Size TimeoutSeconds a rasterized size may go undrawn before its atlas is freed. Keeps zooming through many sizes from using memory without bound.
fontRenderModeRendererVanilla hands text to Minecraft untouched. SDF samples one scalable atlas: smooth at any size or angle, a little soft up close. Raster redraws each glyph at the size it appears at: sharpest, but a separate atlas per size. Auto uses raster for still text on the
sdfWeightStem WeightThickens or thins strokes by a fraction of a pixel. Raise slightly if small text looks too thin.
fontText RenderingHow LDLib draws the text in its own interfaces. Does not affect vanilla screens or other mods.
