Mapping One Language to Multiple Fallback Languages
Why Chain Multiple Fallbacks
A single fallback is often not enough. You might want your primary language, then a closely related one, then a widely translated one as a last resort. Language Amend supports mapping one language code to a list, so the game walks down that list until it finds a translation.
Editing the List
Open config/lang_amend/lang_amend.json. Find the key for your primary language. Its value should be an array. Add each fallback code as a separate quoted string inside the brackets, separated by commas. The mod preserves the order you write, so the first entry is checked first. Duplicates are ignored automatically, so you do not need to worry about repeating a code.
Practical Ordering Tips
Put the language most likely to contain the missing strings near the top. If you use several resource packs, a pack may translate into one language but not another, so a longer chain increases the chance of a hit. After editing, restart the game and switch to your primary language. Missing entries should resolve through the chain in order. If a string still shows the default, none of your fallbacks contain it, and you may need to add another language to the list.
