How to Enable and Configure Jade Tooltips In-Game

Opening the Config

Once Jade is installed, tooltips appear by default when you look at a block or mob. If nothing shows up, open the mod list from the pause menu, select Jade, and click the config button. You can also reach the same screen through the in-game options. Inside, make sure the master toggle for the overlay is switched on.

Choosing What Displays

Jade splits its information into categories. Use the config menu to toggle individual providers on or off, such as item handler contents, breaking progress, brewing stand status, mob effects, entity growth, horse stats, and item frame info. If you only want block info and not entity info, disable the entity providers. The hide-mod-names option removes the source mod label from the tooltip if you find it cluttered.

Adjusting Position and Keybinds

In the config you can change where the tooltip renders on screen and how large it appears. Jade also binds a key that cycles through display modes or opens the config directly; check your controls menu for the Jade keybind and rebind it if it conflicts with another mod. After changing settings, close the config and look at a chest or a cow to confirm the tooltip updates immediately without restarting the game.
