Create a Custom Item Name and Lore for a Map Item

Rename the Item

Hold the item you want to customize in your main hand. Execute:

/rename Your Custom Name Here

`

The item's display name will update immediately in your inventory.

Add Lore Lines

With the same item still in hand, add descriptive text below the name:

`

/addloreline First line of description

/addloreline Second line of description

`

Each command adds a new line to the lore. Lines appear in the tooltip in the order you add them. You can add as many lines as needed for your map's story or instructions.

Verify Your Changes

Hover over the item in your inventory to see the updated name and lore displayed in the tooltip box. The custom text will persist on the item even if you drop it or move it between inventories.

This is ideal for quest items, puzzle clues, or any item that needs context for players in your custom map.
