How to Set Up ImmersiveMC for VR Hand Interaction

Prerequisites

ImmersiveMC is designed to work alongside a VR mod (it needs the MC VR API to function in VR). It is not client-side only, so both your client and the server must have it installed for interactions to work correctly in multiplayer. Make sure your VR setup is running and that you can already see and move your controllers in-world before troubleshooting ImmersiveMC behavior.

Using Your Hands Instead of Right-Click

Once in VR, the mod replaces many right-click interactions with direct hand actions. To place an item into a crafting grid, furnace, or brewing stand, physically move your controller to the slot and use the grab/use input. To pick something up, reach for it and grab. This means you aim with your real hand position rather than a screen crosshair, so practice reaching precisely at block faces.

Getting Comfortable

  • Start with a crafting table to learn the slot layout, then move to furnaces and brewing stands.
  • Keep your playspace clear so you can reach around blocks without bumping furniture.
  • If a slot will not accept your item, adjust your hand angle; the mod checks where your hand actually is.
  • Remember that non-VR players on the same server still benefit from the no-GUI interactions, so mixed groups work fine.
