ImmersiveMC Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using ImmersiveMC?
Just install it on both your client and the server, then walk up to a crafting table, furnace, or brewing stand and interact with it directly instead of opening a GUI. If you're in VR, install MC VR API as well so your hands work properly.
Does ImmersiveMC work on servers or is it client-side only?
It must be installed on both the server and the client. It is not a client-side only mod, so joining a vanilla server or a server without it will not give you the immersive interactions.
How do I craft without opening the crafting GUI?
Place the recipe ingredients directly onto the crafting table's grid using your hands or by interacting with the surface, then take the result from the output area. The mod removes the need to open the standard crafting screen.
How do I use a furnace without the GUI?
Interact with the furnace to place your input and fuel directly into their slots, then wait for the smelting to finish and grab the output. You manage the contents by hand rather than through a menu.
How do I use a brewing stand without opening a menu?
Place your bottles and ingredients into the stand by interacting with it directly, and add blaze powder as fuel the same way. The brewing process runs without you ever opening the brewing GUI.
How do I set up hand interaction in VR?
Install MC VR API alongside ImmersiveMC, then use your actual VR controllers to reach out and grab, place, and manipulate items instead of right-clicking. Your physical hand movements replace the usual click interactions.
Why aren't my interactions registering with blocks?
Make sure ImmersiveMC is installed on both the server and client, since a mismatch breaks interactions. Also check that you're aiming directly at the correct part of the block and that no other mod is overriding the interaction.
Do I need MC VR API if I'm not playing in VR?
No, MC VR API is only needed for VR hand interaction. If you're playing on a flat screen, ImmersiveMC works on its own to reduce GUI usage.
Is ImmersiveMC compatible with other mods?
It generally works alongside most mods, but mods that replace or heavily modify the same blocks (crafting tables, furnaces, brewing stands) or that add their own GUI-overriding interactions can conflict. If a block stops responding, test without other interaction mods to isolate the cause.
Does ImmersiveMC hurt performance?
It's a lightweight mod focused on interaction changes rather than heavy rendering, so performance impact is usually minimal. In VR, performance depends more on MC VR API and your headset setup than on ImmersiveMC itself.
