How to Make Your World Look Like Classic Minecraft with Golden Days

The Golden Days resource pack is a texture overhaul, so the fastest way to see its effect is to load it and walk around an existing world. It retextures boats, doors, signs, leaves, planks, flowers, pottery sherds, and many other blocks into a retro style, so you do not need to rebuild anything to notice the change.

Apply and compare

1. Open Options, then Resource Packs, and move Golden Days to the active list.

2. Reload the pack when prompted, then visit a village, a forest, and a shoreline to see doors, leaves, and boats in the new style.

3. If you want a side-by-side comparison, toggle the pack off and on while standing in the same spot.

Lean into the retro look

Because the pack touches so many common blocks, you can push the classic feel further by building with the materials it already restyles. Use wooden doors, signs, trapdoors, and boats as your main furniture set, and let leaf blocks carry the color of your builds. Flowers and pottery sherds also get the treatment, so decorate gardens and pots instead of leaving them plain. Keep a copy of your world before big changes if you want to compare the old and new looks later.
