Make Passive Mobs Flee When Attacked
How Group Fleeing Works
When you attack any passive mob, nearby passive entities of the same or compatible types will detect the threat and enter a fleeing state. They'll scatter away from the attacker, simulating realistic herd behavior.
Triggering the Fleeing Behavior
1. Locate a group of passive mobs — sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, or other passive animals clustered together work best
2. Attack one mob with any weapon or tool
3. Watch nearby mobs react — they will immediately turn and run away from you
4. Chase or let them escape — the fleeing state lasts until they've moved far enough away or the threat passes
Tips for Herding
- Mobs flee faster when you're actively chasing them
- Use this behavior to separate mobs from a group without harming others
- The fleeing radius depends on proximity — mobs further away may not react
- Repeated attacks keep the group in a panicked state longer
