Fixing a Custom Background That Won't Show Up
Check the Filename and Format
Most failures come from a small mistake in the file itself. Confirm your image is named exactly panorama_overlay.png with no extra text, spaces, or a doubled extension like .png.png. It must be a real PNG file, not a JPG that was simply renamed. Open the pack zip and verify the image sits in assets / minecraft / textures / gui / title / background and that the old file was truly replaced rather than added alongside it.
Check the Pack Is Actually Active
A resource pack that is only in your folder but not enabled will do nothing. Go to Options, then Resource Packs, and make sure Custom Background HD is on the right-hand selected list. If another pack loads above it and also changes the menu, that pack may override yours, so drag Custom Background HD to the top. After any change, fully leave and re-enter the main menu or restart the game so the texture reloads. If the background still looks default, try removing and re-adding the pack, and double-check you edited the same zip copy the game is reading rather than a duplicate stored elsewhere.
