How to Fix Missing Recipes and Items in REI/EMI/JEI When Using Connector Extras

Why recipes go missing

Connector Extras includes plugin platform bridges for REI, EMI, and JEI. These bridges let recipe viewers read data from mods that were originally built for a different loader's plugin system. If a recipe viewer shows empty categories or a mod's items never appear in search, the bridge for that viewer is usually the culprit.

Steps to restore recipes

1. Confirm you have exactly one recipe viewer installed. Running REI, EMI, and JEI together causes plugin conflicts, and Connector Extras will try to bridge all of them at once.

2. Open the recipe viewer's settings and check that the affected mod's category is enabled. Bridges register categories dynamically, so a category can be toggled off without you noticing.

3. If a single mod's recipes are missing, check whether that mod ships its own plugin for a different viewer. The bridge only forwards plugins it recognizes; a plugin written for an unsupported viewer will not be translated.

4. Reload recipes with the viewer's reload keybind instead of restarting the game. Bridge registration happens during reload, so a full restart is not required.

5. If items are missing entirely from search, verify the mod itself loaded. Connector Extras bridges APIs, it does not load mods that failed their own initialization.

Work through these in order, since each step narrows down whether the problem is the viewer, the bridge, or the source mod.
