Recycle Iron Gears and Damaged Iron Tools

Basic Tool Recycling

Damaged or unwanted iron tools can be converted back into resources through smelting. This mod expands on vanilla's gear recycling to include most iron equipment.

Steps

1. Collect your damaged iron tools, gears, or other iron items you no longer need

2. Place them in a furnace as you would any other smeltable item

3. Add fuel (coal, wood, etc.) to the furnace

4.

5. Collect the resulting nuggets or ingots from the furnace output

Recovery Rate

Items that required fewer resources to craft will return nuggets. Items crafted from four or more iron ingots will return a full ingot, making large items like anvils and minecarts worthwhile to recycle. This makes it practical to recover resources from broken tools rather than discarding them.
