Allow a Named Baby Mob to Grow Into an Adult

Renaming to Trigger Growth

If you've nametagged a baby mob to keep it small but later want it to mature into an adult, you can override the permanent baby status by renaming it.

1. Obtain another nametag

2. Right-click the named baby mob with the new nametag

3. Rename the mob to exactly "grow up" or "GROW_UP" (case doesn't matter for the second option)

4. Confirm the name change

5. The mob will immediately begin its growth process and will age into an adult

What Happens Next

Once the mob reaches adulthood, you can rename it again to any other name if desired. The growth trigger only works with those specific names—any other name will keep the baby frozen at its current age. This gives you full control over when and if a baby mob matures.
