Gating Mob Armor Behind Game Stages
How the Stage Support Works
ArmoreableMobs integrates with
Game Stages, so an armor group can be locked until a player unlocks a stage. This lets you make heavily armored mobs appear only after the player has progressed far enough, keeping
early game easy and late game dangerous.
Attach a Stage to a Group
After creating your ArmorGroup and adding entities and armor slots, associate the group with a stage name. The stage string must match the one you grant elsewhere in your pack. Once a player has that stage, the group becomes active for them; before that, the mob spawns without the gear.
`zenscript
var group = ArmorHandler.createArmorGroup("stage_gated", 0.5);
group.addEntity(<entity:minecraft:zombie>);
group.addArmor(ArmorHandler.createArmorSlot("head", <minecraft:diamond_helmet>));
// associate the group with a game stage here
`
Test the Gate
Grant yourself the stage with the standard
Game Stages command, then spawn the entity and confirm the armor appears. Remove the stage and spawn again to confirm the mob spawns bare. This is the fastest way to catch a typo in the stage name, which is the most common reason a gate silently fails. Remember that stages are per-player, so on a server each player sees the armored version only after unlocking the stage themselves.
