How to Progress from 1k to 256M ME Energy Storage
Understanding the Tiers
Applied Flux offers storage components and cells in a wide range of sizes: 1k, 4k, 16k, 64k, 256k, 1M, 4M, 16M, 64M, and 256M. Each tier is a direct upgrade of the previous one — the recipe pattern stays the same, only the storage component changes.
Gathering Materials
Every tier needs Diamond Dust, Emerald Dust, Insulating Resin, Harden Insulating Resin, and Energy Processors. Higher tiers require more of each, plus the previous tier's component as an ingredient in many cases. Set up automated dust production and a steady Energy Processor line before pushing past 64k.
Upgrading Step by Step
1. Craft the next-tier ME Energy Storage Component using the previous component plus additional materials.
2. Combine it with the cell housing to make the new ME FE Storage Cell.
3. Swap the old cell out of your ME Drive and insert the new one — your stored FE transfers with the cell, so you do not lose charge.
When to Upgrade
Upgrade when your network regularly hits full or when machines stall waiting for FE. For most mid-game bases, 64k to 1M is plenty; 16M and above are for large automation setups or servers with heavy FE demand. Portable variants follow the same tiers.
