Applied Flux FAQ
20 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get started with Applied Flux?
Craft a
1k ME Energy Storage Component and combine it with an ME FE Storage Cell to make your first
1k ME FE Storage Cell, then place it in an ME Drive or ME Chest so your AE2 network can store FE. You'll need Charged Redstone Crystals and an
Energy Processor first, so set up an
Inscriber Energy Press before anything else.

The component is the intermediate crafting item that determines capacity, while the FE Storage Cell is the finished item you actually put into an ME Drive or ME Chest. You always craft the component first, then combine it with the appropriate housing to get the usable cell.
How do I charge items with the
Induction Card?
Put an
Induction Card into a wireless terminal or compatible AE2 device and it will wirelessly charge FE-powered items in your inventory from your ME network's stored energy. Make sure your network actually has FE stored in Applied Flux cells, otherwise there's nothing to draw from.

Induction Card charging anything?
The most common causes are an empty ME network (no FE stored), the card not being installed in a wireless terminal, or being out of range of the network's wireless access point. Check that your ME FE Storage Cells actually hold charge and that you're within wireless range.
What does the
Flux Accessor do?
The
Flux Accessor lets you interact with Applied Flux energy storage directly, acting as an interface between your FE storage and machines or cables that need FE. Place it against the block or network you want to draw from or feed into.

Portable FE Cells store FE in item form so you can carry energy with you and discharge it into machines or your inventory items while away from base. Right-click or use them in a charger to move the stored FE where you need it.
How do I make Charged Redstone Crystals and
Diamond Dust?
Diamond Dust and
Emerald Dust are produced by grinding the respective gems, and Charged Redstone Crystals come from processing redstone through the
Energy Processor line. Automate this with the
Inscriber Energy Press and the appropriate processing chain so you don't run out mid-craft.What is the
Energy Processor used for?
The
Energy Processor is a core crafting component required for most Applied Flux cells, components, and the
Induction Card. You'll need a steady supply, so set up automated production rather than crafting them one at a time.

Yes, ME FE Storage Cells are designed to slot into standard AE2 ME Drives and ME Chests just like regular storage cells. This means you can mix FE storage and item storage in the same drive array.
Does Applied Flux cause lag or performance issues on a server?
Performance depends mostly on how many cells and how much FE throughput you're pushing through the network, not the mod itself. Large numbers of active portable cells or Flux Accessors constantly transferring energy can add tick load, so keep an eye on chunk activity if you build big.
What does the Applied Flux Mod do?
It adds cells that let you store Forge Energy (FE) in your Applied Energistics 2 ME network. You can view stored energy and charge or discharge items directly in a terminal.
What does Applied Flux add?
It adds ME FE storage cells in sizes from 1k up to 256m, portable FE cells, ME energy storage components, and the
Flux Accessor. It also adds items like the
energy processor,
printed energy circuit,
redstone crystal, diamond dust, and emerald dust.

The mod author lists Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.21.1, and 26.1.2.
What mod loaders does Applied Flux run on?
It supports Forge and NeoForge.
What mods does Applied Flux need?
It is built around Applied Energistics 2, and the wiki has guide pages for Applied Energistics 2 and Flux Networks.
How much energy can Applied Flux store?
The largest cell can store over 200 trillion FE. Cells are available in 1k, 4k, 16k, 64k, 256k, 1m, 4m, 16m, 64m, and 256m sizes.
How do I store FE in my ME network?
Craft the energy cells and place them into your ME network to increase its total power storage. Open a terminal to see how much energy is stored.
How do I charge items with Applied Flux?
Place items in the terminal's slots to charge or discharge them using the network's power.
What is the
Flux Accessor in Applied Flux?
The

Yes. It registers blocks including the
charged
redstone crystal block, and the ME FE storage cells and portable cells exist as items and blocks.
