Getting Animated Entity and Armor Textures to Show Up

Animated entity and armor textures are the most requested feature in Animatica, and they behave differently from block animations. Here is how to make them actually appear on your mobs and your character.

Entity textures

Entity animations rely on the pack supplying frame data for the entity's texture. Make sure the pack you installed is the one providing that entity's skin — if another pack sits above it and overrides the same mob texture, the animation is replaced by a static image. Move the animated pack to the top of the list and reload. Then spawn or look at the mob in question; some entity animations only trigger under certain conditions, so a stationary mob may look static even when the animation is working.

Armor textures

Armor animations are tied to the armor texture layer, not the item icon. A pack can animate the worn armor while leaving the inventory icon static, which is normal. Equip the armor and view it on your character rather than judging from the hotbar. If you use a mod that changes armor rendering, it may bypass the animated layer entirely — test without it.

When nothing works

If both entity and armor animations fail while block animations succeed, the pack likely uses an animation format Animatica does not cover. Check the pack's documentation for which mod it was built for.
