How to Deal with Pillager Bridges in Abridged Mod

Recognizing the Threat

Pillager-themed bridges in Abridged Mod are guarded structures. You will know one when you see pillagers standing on or near the bridge, often with a distinct pillager-style build theme. These are not passive landmarks — approaching triggers combat.

Preparing Before You Engage

Bring a shield, a decent sword or axe, and some blocks to build cover. Pillagers use crossbows and can shoot from range, so close the distance behind blocks or use terrain. If the bridge spans a canyon, watch your footing — knockback from a crossbow bolt can send you off the edge.

Clearing and Looting

Take out the pillagers one at a time if possible, using cover between shots. Once the guards are down, the bridge is safe to cross and explore. Check the bridge structure for any containers or decorative loot spots, though not every pillager bridge has them. After clearing, you can use the bridge as a permanent crossing point. If pillagers respawn or new ones wander in, you may need to clear it again — consider lighting the area or walling off approach paths to keep it safe.
