Abridged Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I find bridges in Abridged Mod?
Just explore your world normally — bridges generate automatically over rivers and canyons during world generation. They appear in both new and unexplored chunks, so you won't find them in areas you've already loaded before installing the mod.
Do bridges spawn in already-generated chunks?
No. Bridges are placed during world generation, so only chunks generated after the mod is installed will contain them. You'll need to explore new territory to find them.
What's the difference between creek bridges and canyon bridges?
Creek bridges span rivers and tend to be shorter with flatter approaches, while canyon bridges are longer and built to cross deep ravines or gorges. The canyon variants often have taller support structures to reach across the gap.
Are the bridges safe to walk across?
Most bridges are fully walkable, but some canyon bridges have gaps, broken sections, or missing rails you'll need to jump or bridge over. Check your footing before sprinting across, especially on pillager variants.
How do I use the rail tracks on bridges?
Some bridge variants come with pre-placed rails you can ride minecarts along. Place a minecart on the track and ride it across, or connect the bridge rails to your own rail line for a continuous route.
Why are there pillagers on some bridges?
Certain bridge variants are pillager-themed and spawn with pillagers guarding them. These are hostile encounters, so come prepared with gear or avoid them if you're not ready for a fight.
Can I break down bridge blocks for resources?
Yes, bridge blocks can generally be mined like normal wood and stone variants. This makes bridges a handy source of building materials if you don't mind dismantling them.
Do bridges work with other world generation mods?
Bridges generate based on terrain features like rivers and canyons, so they may conflict or overlap with mods that heavily alter world generation. If you use terrain-changing mods, expect occasional odd placements or missing bridges.
Will adding this mod hurt my game's performance?
The mod only adds structures during world generation, so performance impact is minimal during normal play. You may notice a brief hitch when new chunks with bridges load in.
