How to Fix Models That Look Flat or Wrong After Installing

If the pack is selected but rails, bookshelves, or bottles still look two-dimensional, the cause is almost always a conflict or a stale cache rather than the pack itself.

Resolve pack conflicts

Open Resource Packs and look at everything above 3D Default. Any pack that also edits rail, bookshelf, potion, or bottle models will win, because the higher pack overrides the lower one. Drag 3D Default to the top of the Selected column, or remove the competing pack, then click Done. Reload by pressing F3+T to refresh textures without restarting.

Clear a stale model cache

Occasionally the client keeps an old model in memory. Press F3+T first; if that fails, leave the world and rejoin, and if it still persists, restart the game entirely. This forces the model loader to rebuild from the active pack list.

Rule out other causes

Make sure you are looking at the correct block. A flat-looking rail might be a different rail type than the one you placed. Confirm you are not in a resource pack profile that excludes 3D Default, and that the pack file itself is not corrupted by re-downloading it. If only one model is wrong while others render correctly, the issue is that specific file being overridden, not the whole pack.
