Troubleshoot Zoom That Feels Laggy or Unresponsive

Check Your Smoothness Setting

Press B to open the settings menu. If zoom feels sluggish or delayed, your Smoothness slider may be set too high. Lower it to reduce the easing duration and make the camera respond faster to your zoom input.

Verify Zoom Speed Isn't Too Low

If the zoom takes a long time to complete, your Zoom Speed multiplier might be set too low. Increase it so the camera travels toward your target more quickly.

Test with a Clear Target

Close the menu and zoom toward a distant, easily visible object like a mountain peak or structure. This helps you clearly see whether the camera is responding sluggishly or if the settings simply need adjustment.

Reset to Defaults if Needed

If you've made many adjustments and the zoom still feels wrong, try resetting both sliders to middle positions and adjust from there. This eliminates confusion from conflicting settings.
