ZoomX Smooth Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the zoom settings menu?
Press the B key while in-game to open the ZoomX Smooth Mod settings menu. If B is already bound to another action, you can rebind the menu key in your controls settings.
What does the Smoothness slider actually do?
The Smoothness slider controls how gradually your camera moves when zooming—slide it left for snappy, instant zoom or right for slow, cinematic camera movement that feels like a movie.
What's the difference between Smoothness and Zoom Speed?
Smoothness controls how gradually the camera transitions, while Zoom Speed controls how fast that transition happens overall. You can have smooth, slow zoom or smooth, fast zoom depending on both settings.
Does this mod work with Sodium?
Yes, ZoomX Smooth Mod is fully compatible with Sodium and other performance mods. It won't cause frame rate drops because the code is lightweight.
Why does my zoom feel laggy or unresponsive?
Try lowering your Smoothness value to make the camera respond faster, or increase your Zoom Speed multiplier. If lag persists, check that no other mods are conflicting with camera controls.
Can I use this mod on older computers?
Yes, the mod is designed to run well on older hardware without lowering your frame rate.
What happens if I set Smoothness all the way to the left?
Setting Smoothness to the left makes your zoom snap instantly to the target with no gradual transition, giving you immediate camera movement.
Do I need to restart my game after changing zoom settings?
No, changes to Smoothness and Zoom Speed take effect immediately—just close the menu and test your new settings right away.
Can I zoom in on specific objects or only adjust the general camera?
ZoomX Smooth Mod adjusts how your camera zooms in on distant objects and targets, controlling the feel of the zoom rather than which objects you can zoom on.
Will this mod affect my multiplayer gameplay or get me banned?
ZoomX Smooth Mod only changes camera behavior on your client and doesn't give you unfair advantages, so it's safe for multiplayer servers that allow client-side mods.
