Prepare for and Survive a Blood Moon Event

Understand Blood Moon Danger

Blood Moon events dramatically increase zombie spawn rates and difficulty. All zombie mutations become more aggressive and spawn more frequently. You can trigger one manually with /za forcebloodmoon, but they also occur naturally. Check /za info to see if a Blood Moon is active or approaching.

Stock Resources Before It Starts

Gather food, weapons, and building materials during the day. Blood Moon events make farming and mining extremely dangerous. Collect enough supplies to last several in-game days, as the horde will be relentless and you'll need to stay sheltered longer.

Fortify Your Base

Reinforce walls with harder blocks and create multiple sealed rooms. Ensure your shelter can withstand prolonged siege. Stock healing potions and food in separate storage areas in case one room is compromised. Create escape routes to secondary shelters.

Combat Strategy During Blood Moon

If you must fight, use ranged weapons from elevated positions where zombies cannot easily reach you. Avoid melee combat—the coordinated horde will surround you quickly. Keep moving and never let them pin you in a corner. Retreat to shelter if overwhelmed.
