Add Custom Items as Zipline Tools

Why Customize Tools

By default, only pickaxes and wrenches work on ziplines. If you want to use a different item—like a custom tool from another mod or a unique weapon—you can add it through a data pack.

Create or Edit Your Data Pack

1. Open your world's datapacks folder

2. Create or navigate to your data pack directory

3. Add the item to the zipline attachment tag using a JSON file

4. The tag system allows any item marked as a valid zipline tool to work on cables

Apply Your Changes

Save your data pack and reload the world. Your custom item should now let you grab and slide on ziplines just like a pickaxe would. This is useful if you prefer thematic tools or want to restrict zipline access to specific items in your modpack.
