How to Get the Best Loot from a Better Nether Fortress

The redesigned fortress is built around rewarding exploration, so loot is spread across all three sections rather than concentrated in one spot. If you only raid the bridges, you leave most of it behind.

Where loot tends to be

• Bridge networks: chests tucked into side towers and dead-end platforms. Easy to miss if you sprint across the main span.
• The Keep: the highest density of chests, often in small rooms off the main halls. Check corners, upper floors, and rooms behind iron bars.
• Lava Halls: the deepest section. Loot here is guarded by more mobs and lava hazards, so it is riskier but worth the trip.

Making the run efficient

1. Enter through the bridges and clear them first for easy supplies.

2. Move into the Keep and sweep room by room instead of wandering. Use the walls to keep your bearings.

3. Descend into the Lava Halls last, once you are geared and have fire protection.

Don't skip the mobs

Wither skeletons and blazes are part of the reward loop here. Coal, bones, and blaze rods are valuable, so fight rather than avoid. Bring a looting-enchanted weapon to stretch every kill further.
