How do I find a Better Nether Fortress?
Craft and use a Fortress Locator item, which points you toward the nearest fortress in the Nether. If you don't have one, explore the Nether in a straight line while watching for the large bridge networks that stick out above the terrain.
What are the three main parts of a Better Nether Fortress?
Each fortress is made up of the bridge networks on the surface, the Keep (the main fortress structure), and the Lava Halls that extend underground below the Keep. You'll usually encounter the bridges first, then the Keep, then the Lava Halls.
How do I get into the Keep?
Follow the bridge networks to the central Keep structure and look for an entrance at its base or on the sides. Some entrances are blocked or hidden, so check around the exterior walls if the obvious path is sealed.
How do I reach the Lava Halls?
The Lava Halls are underground, so look for stairways, shafts, or openings inside the Keep that lead downward. Bring fire resistance and a way to safely cross lava before descending.
Why can't I find the fortress I'm looking for?
Better Nether Fortresses are much larger than vanilla ones, so you may be standing inside one without realizing it. Look for the distinctive bridge architecture and Keep silhouette rather than the small vanilla brick corridors.
What's the best loot in a Better Nether Fortress?
The most valuable loot is concentrated in the Keep and the Lava Halls, so don't stop at the bridges. Search chests throughout all three sections, since rewards are spread across the whole structure rather than in one room.
Do Better Nether Fortresses replace vanilla fortresses?
Yes, this mod overhauls the main Nether fortress structure, so the fortresses you find in the Nether will be the redesigned ones. You won't find the old small vanilla-style fortresses alongside them.
How do I survive the Lava Halls?
Bring fire resistance potions, blocks to bridge over lava, and a way to put out fire quickly. Move carefully and light up areas as you go, since the halls are dark and full of hazards.
Is this mod compatible with other Nether or structure mods?
It generally works alongside most other mods, but structure-adding mods that also change Nether fortresses may conflict or overlap. If you see broken or merged structures, check whether another mod is editing the same fortress generation.
Will Better Nether Fortresses cause lag or performance issues?
