How to Use the Mod to Ship a Consistent Setup to Other Players or Instances
The Goal
If you run a server, share a modpack, or play on multiple computers, you want everyone starting from the same options and configs. Your Options Shall Be Respected makes that possible by acting as a template provider.
Build the Template
1. Configure a single instance exactly how you want it: video settings, controls, and every mod config.
2. Exit the game.
3. Collect the options file and the config files you want standardized.
4. Place them in the mod's defaults folder, keeping the exact filenames and relative paths the mod expects.
5. Package that defaults folder with your instance or modpack.
How It Behaves for Others
When another player launches the instance and a config file is absent, the mod copies your template version in. Players who already have their own configs keep them, so the mod does not force settings on anyone who has already customized things. To guarantee a fresh start, they can delete their existing config files before launching.
Caveats
Only include configs you are allowed to redistribute. Avoid bundling files that contain personal data such as account tokens or server passwords. Test the template on a clean instance before sharing it.
