How to Reset Your Game to a Known-Good Options State Without Reinstalling

The Problem

Sometimes your options get scrambled: a keybind breaks, the GUI scale is wrong, or a mod config causes crashes. Reinstalling is overkill. Your Options Shall Be Respected lets you snap back to a saved state.

Prepare a Known-Good Snapshot

1. Get the game into a state you are happy with: working controls, sensible video settings, stable mod configs.

2. Exit the game fully.

3. Copy the options file and any relevant config files into the mod's defaults folder.

4. Note which files you stored so you can restore them later.

Restore the Snapshot

1. Close the game.

2. Delete or move aside the live options and config files you want reset.

3. Start the game. The mod will copy your stored versions into place.

4. Verify in the Options menu and in each mod's config screen that the values match your snapshot.

When to Use This

This is most useful after a bad mod update, a corrupted config, or an experiment with settings you did not like. Because the mod only acts when a file is missing, you must remove the bad file first; it will not overwrite an existing file on its own.
