Yet Another World Protector Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I create my first protected region?
Use the region creation command to define a rectangular area by specifying two corner points (minimum and maximum coordinates). Once created, the region will automatically protect against the default flags like block breaking and mob griefing until you adjust them.
Can I protect areas in the Nether and End?
Yes—dimensional regions are automatically generated for each world including the Nether, End, and any modded dimensions. You can create local regions in any of these dimensions, or use global regions to apply rules across all dimensions at once.
How do I let my friend build in my protected region?
Add your friend as a member of the region using the permission command, either by their player name or by assigning them via a vanilla team. Members can then build, break blocks, and interact within that region according to the flags you've set.
What's the difference between a local region and a global region?
Local regions protect specific bounded areas in individual dimensions, while global regions apply their flags across all dimensions and all local regions simultaneously. Use global regions for server-wide rules like preventing all explosions, and local regions for specific builds.
Can I allow mobs to spawn but prevent them from griefing?
Yes—you can disable the mob griefing flag while leaving mob spawning enabled, or vice versa. Flags are independent, so you have fine-grained control over which actions are allowed in each region.
Does this mod work on singleplayer?
Yes, the mod works on singleplayer worlds, LAN worlds, and dedicated servers. On singleplayer you're the owner by default, but you can still set up regions and flags to organize your world.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is designed to be lightweight and server-side, so it should have minimal performance impact even with many regions. Performance depends on your server hardware and the number of active regions, but the mod is optimized for modern Minecraft versions.
Can I protect against fire spread and lava flow?
Yes—you can disable fire spread and lava flow using separate flags. This is useful for protecting wooden builds or preventing environmental damage in specific regions while allowing it elsewhere.
What happens if I set conflicting flags in overlapping regions?
Local regions take priority over global regions, so if a local region's flags conflict with global rules, the local region's settings will apply to players within that area. Check your region hierarchy if behavior seems unexpected.
Can I protect against explosions from creepers and TNT?
Yes—disabling the explosion flag will prevent damage from both mob explosions (like creepers) and player-placed TNT or other explosive blocks. You can set this per region to allow controlled explosions in some areas while protecting others.
