How to Make Your Shield and Banner Display Correctly on Your Character

Shields and banners have their own dedicated display positions in this mod, separate from your hotbar slots. That means a shield doesn't need to occupy a hotbar slot to appear on your character — but it does need to be equipped or held in the way the mod expects.

Getting the Shield to Show

Equip your shield in your offhand as you normally would. The mod reads your offhand and renders the shield on your character's arm or back depending on your configuration. If it isn't appearing:

• Confirm the Shield toggle is enabled in the settings menu (press V).
• Make sure the shield is actually in your offhand, not just your inventory.
• Check that no other toggle is overriding the display.

Getting the Banner to Show

Banners use their own unique location. Hold or carry the banner the way the mod detects it, and enable the Banner toggle in the settings menu. Because banners have a distinct render slot, they won't conflict with your weapon display.

Why This Matters

Separating shield and banner slots from the hotbar means you can keep a clean weapon loadout visible while still showing off a decorative banner. Toggle each independently until the combination looks right.
