YDM’s Weapon Master Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the Weapon Master settings menu?
Press V while in-game to open the settings window. From there you can toggle the visibility of each hotbar slot, your shield, and your banner individually.
Why aren't my weapons showing on my character?
The most common cause is that visibility for that slot is turned off in the settings menu, so press V and check each toggle. Also make sure the item is actually in hotbar slots 1 through 8, since those are the slots the mod reads.
Which hotbar slots does the mod display items from?
Only slots 1 through 8 of your hotbar are shown on your character. Anything in slot 9 or your offhand won't appear through the normal slot display.
How do I hide just one item instead of everything?
Open the settings menu with V and toggle off only the slot that item occupies. Each slot has its own visibility switch, so you can hide a single sword or tool without affecting the rest.
Where does my shield show up on my character?
The shield has its own dedicated display location on your character, separate from the hotbar slots. If it isn't appearing, make sure the shield toggle is enabled in the settings menu and that you're actually holding a shield.
How do I get my banner to display on my back?
The banner uses its own unique display position, so it won't conflict with your hotbar items. Enable the banner toggle in the settings menu (V) and have a banner in the appropriate slot for it to render.
Can I choose exactly which items appear using item IDs?
Yes, the mod lets you control visibility by item ID, so you can whitelist or filter specific items rather than relying only on slot toggles. This is useful when you want a modded weapon to show but not a vanilla one in the same slot.
Do items from other mods work with Weapon Master?
Compatibility with other mods' items is generally good, and modded swords, tools, and shields usually render fine. If a specific modded item doesn't show, try adding its item ID to the allowed list in the settings.
Does this mod hurt my FPS or performance?
Rendering a few extra item models on your character has minimal performance impact in normal play. If you notice lag, try disabling visibility for slots you don't care about to reduce what's being drawn.
Can other players see the items on my character, or is it client-side only?
The display is handled client-side, so what you see depends on your own settings. Other players will only see your displayed items if they also have the mod installed with matching visibility settings.
