XXS World Map FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start a new world with XXS World Map?
Create a new world and select XXS World Map as your world type during world creation. The mod will generate a 10×10 space with all dimensions compressed into this tiny footprint, so you'll spawn in a pre-designed survival world ready to play.
Where do I find the stronghold in this tiny map?
The stronghold is placed in a specific location within the compressed map to ensure it's reachable. Check underground areas systematically or use Eyes of Ender as normal—they'll guide you to the stronghold's actual position within the 10×10 space rather than sending you off the map.
Can I actually beat the Ender Dragon on this map?
Yes, the End dimension is fully compressed and beatable. The stronghold contains a functional End portal, and the End itself is scaled down but contains the dragon and exit portal, making the full progression possible.
How do I find different biomes if the map is so small?
Biomes are densely packed into the 10×10 space, so you'll encounter multiple biome types by exploring horizontally and vertically. Walking in different directions or descending into caves will quickly expose you to varied terrain and biome features.
Is there enough space to build a base without running out of room?
Yes, but you'll need to plan carefully and build vertically or use compact designs. The map includes enough open space for a functional base, though you may need to choose between a sprawling build and leaving room for mining and exploration.
Where are caves and how do I mine efficiently here?
Caves are compressed into the map and accessible by digging down or finding natural openings. Mine strategically by exploring existing caves first rather than strip-mining, since space is limited and caves contain most of the resources you'll need.
Does the Nether work normally on this map?
Yes, the Nether is fully functional and compressed like other dimensions. You can build a Nether portal and travel there, though the Nether's smaller size means you'll encounter its features more densely.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
XXS World Map typically runs smoothly since there's less terrain to render and load. Performance should be better than a normal world, though this depends on your system and other mods you have installed.
Can I use this mod with other mods?
XXS World Map is generally compatible with most mods, but conflicts can occur with mods that heavily modify world generation or dimension mechanics. Test your mod combination in a test world first to ensure stability.
What happens if I try to travel beyond the 10×10 boundary?
The map is designed as a contained world, so traveling to the edges will show you the boundary of the generated terrain. You won't be able to generate new chunks beyond the 10×10 space, keeping the challenge intact.
