How to Use REI for Recipe Lookup and Item Searching

Opening the Recipe Viewer

REI (Roughly Enough Items) is included in XPlus PerioTable and opens with the inventory key. When your inventory is open, you will see a search bar at the bottom and a panel of items on the right. Type any item name to filter the list. You can also search by mod name if you want to see everything a particular mod adds.

Viewing Recipes and Uses

Hover over an item and press the recipe key (default is R) to see how it is crafted. Press the uses key (default is U) to see what that item is used for. This works for crafting table recipes, furnace smelting, brewing, and many modded machines. If a recipe has multiple pages, use the arrow buttons or scroll to cycle through them.

Handy Shortcuts

You can drag items from the REI panel into your crafting grid in creative mode, and in survival you can click a recipe to auto-fill the grid if you have the ingredients. The search bar supports @modid syntax to filter by mod, and you can hide items you never want to see by pressing the hide key while hovering over them. This keeps the panel clean when you are looking for something specific.
