How to Customize the Minimap Size, Position, and HUD

Opening the Settings

Xaero's Minimap is highly configurable. Open the mod's settings screen (typically from the minimap itself or your mod list's config button) to reach all the display options. Changes usually apply immediately so you can see the result as you tweak.

Resizing and Repositioning

You can adjust the minimap's size to exactly what suits your screen. A larger map shows more terrain but covers more of your view; a smaller one stays out of the way. You can also move the minimap to a different corner of the screen if the default position overlaps something you need to see.

Tuning the HUD

Beyond size, you can control what information the HUD displays — for example coordinates and the current biome. Turn off elements you don't need to keep the interface clean, or turn them on when you're navigating. The goal is a HUD that gives you the info you actually use without clutter.

Showing and Hiding Waypoints

In the same settings you control whether waypoints appear in the world and on the minimap. Hiding them does not delete them — they stay in your list (press U) and can be re-shown anytime. This lets you keep a busy world clean while still retaining every marker you've made.

Finding Your Ideal Setup

Experiment: run a session with a large map and full HUD, then a session with a minimal one. Most players settle somewhere in between depending on whether they're exploring, building, or fighting.
