Finding and Activating New Waystones Using the Map

Spotting Undiscovered Waystones

Map markers are most useful when you are exploring. As you move through the world, newly encountered waystones get added to your map, letting you see at a glance which regions already have a fast-travel point and which do not.

Exploration Workflow

1. Keep Xaero's Minimap open while traveling so new waystone icons appear as you approach them.

2. When an icon shows on the minimap, head toward it and interact with the waystone block to activate it.

3. After activation, reopen the world map and confirm the marker is now a permanent, usable travel point.

4. Use gaps in the marker coverage to decide where to explore next — areas with no icons are candidates for a new waystone network.

5. If your Waystones mod lets you craft or place new waystones, drop one in an uncovered area and activate it so it joins your map.

Why Activation Matters

An unactivated waystone may appear in the world but not function as a travel destination. The map integration reflects your known waystones, so activating each one you find keeps your marker list accurate and your fast-travel options complete. Revisit old markers to confirm they are still active after world or server changes.
