Xaeros Maps x Waystones Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get waystones to show up on my Xaero's map?
Waystones appear automatically as markers once you've discovered them in the world. If a waystone isn't showing, walk near it or interact with it so your map registers it, then check your marker settings in Xaero's map options.
Do I need to activate a waystone before it appears on the map?
Yes, you generally need to discover or activate a waystone in person for it to register as a marker. Undiscovered waystones won't appear on your minimap or world map.
Why are my waystone markers not showing on Xaero's minimap?
Check that the waystone marker category is enabled in your Xaero's minimap settings, and make sure you're within the map's render or tracking range. Markers can also be hidden if the waystone is in an unloaded chunk.
Can I click a waystone marker on the map to teleport to it?
No, the map only shows waystone locations as markers. To actually fast travel, you still need to physically interact with the waystone block in the world.
How do I plan a fast travel route using waystone markers?
Open your Xaero's world map and look at where your discovered waystones are placed. Pick the waystone closest to your destination, travel to it, then teleport from there to shorten the remaining journey.
Why does a waystone marker show in the wrong place on my map?
This usually happens when a waystone was moved, broken, or the chunk data is stale. Reloading the world or re-visiting the waystone's location typically refreshes the marker position.
Do waystones from other mods or datapacks show on Xaero's map?
Only waystones that this integration recognizes will appear as markers. Custom or heavily modified waystone blocks from unrelated mods may not be supported and could be missing from your map.
Can I rename or recolor waystone markers on Xaero's map?
Marker appearance is controlled through Xaero's map settings, where you can adjust how waypoint markers look. The waystone's own name comes from the waystone itself, not the map.
Does this mod work on a multiplayer server?
Yes, as long as the server has the waystone mod and this integration available, waystones you discover will show on your map. Markers are tracked per player based on what you've personally found.
Will this mod hurt my FPS or performance?
The integration itself is lightweight since it just adds markers to Xaero's existing map system. Performance issues are more likely from having many waystones loaded or from Xaero's map settings being set very high.
