How to Allow Cave Mode in the Nether While Keeping the Overworld Fair
Cave mode is normally disabled under fair-play rules because it lets players see terrain through solid
blocks. But in the Nether, where the terrain is already mostly open caverns and the risk of unfair advantage is lower, some servers want to allow it. This mod provides a dedicated command for exactly that.
Enabling Nether Cave Mode
Run:
`
/function xaero:xaerowmnetherisfair
`
This allows cave mode specifically in the Nether while keeping the minimap fair everywhere else. The Overworld and End remain under the normal fair-play
restrictions, so players can't use cave mode to spot hidden bases or ambush others in those dimensions.
Combining with Fair-Play
This command is typically used alongside /function xaero:fairxaero. Fair-play disables cave mode globally; the Nether command carves out an exception for that one dimension. If you want the change applied without notifying players, use the silent prefix:
`
/function xaero:silent/xaerowmnetherisfair
`
This is a good middle ground for servers where Nether travel is common and players find the lack of cave mode frustrating, but where Overworld fairness still matters for PvP balance.
