Worldshape Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What is the Worldshape Mod?
Worldshape is a structure-spawning utility for Minecraft that lets modpack creators place custom .nbt schematics and Jigsaw-based structures into world generation using JSON configurations.
What Minecraft versions does Worldshape support?
Worldshape supports Minecraft 1.16.5 through 1.17 on Forge.
What mod loader does Worldshape need?
Worldshape runs on Forge.
Where does Worldshape put its files?
Worldshape operates at modpack level, so its worldshape folder is created inside your instance folder, alongside folders like screenshots, logs and mods. The folder is created automatically the first time the game launches with the mod.
How do I add a custom structure to Worldshape?
Create a .json file in your datapack's structure_spawners/ folder inside the worldshape data folder. The file requires a template section, a placement section, and an averageSpacing value.
Where do Worldshape .nbt schematic files go?
.nbt schematic files go in data/ /structures/. They are placed in the world by structure spawners or template pools.
What is averageSpacing in Worldshape?
averageSpacing is the average horizontal distance in chunks between each attempt to generate the structure.
What is minimumSpacing in Worldshape?
minimumSpacing is the lower boundary of the possible distance in chunks between two structures of the same type. It is optional and defaults to averageSpacing divided by 2.
How do I limit a Worldshape structure to certain biomes?
Add a biomes array to the structure's JSON. You can list biome ids or categories prefixed with #, such as "minecraft:desert", "#forest" or "#beach".
What is the difference between single and pool template types in Worldshape?
single loads a template .nbt file from worldshape/data/ /structures/ .nbt, while pool spawns from a template pool .json file at worldshape/data/ /worldgen/template_pool/ , the same pools Jigsaw Blocks use.
