Wood Walkers Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I transform into a mob for the first time?
You need to find and interact with a mob you want to transform into, then press the designated transformation key (configurable in your controls settings). Once you've transformed into a mob at least once, you can switch between your player form and that mob form freely using the same key.
Can I have multiple mob forms or just one?
You can only have one active mob form at a time. To switch to a different mob, you'll need to transform into that new mob first, which will replace your previous form.
Do I keep my inventory when I transform?
Yes, your inventory remains with you in mob form, though you won't be able to access it while transformed. Your items are safely stored and return to your access when you shift back to player form.
What happens to my health when I transform?
Your health bar changes to match the mob's heart display, but your actual health value is preserved proportionally. When you transform back to player form, your health returns to what it was before the transformation.
Can other players see me as a mob or do I look like a player to them?
In multiplayer, other players will see you as the actual mob you've transformed into, complete with the mob's appearance and size, making it genuinely difficult for them to tell you apart from a real mob.
Do I take damage from things that hurt that mob type?
Yes, you inherit the mob's vulnerabilities and resistances while transformed. For example, as a strider you can safely walk on lava, but as a bat you'll take fall damage more easily.
Can I use tools and weapons while transformed?
No, you cannot use most items or tools while in mob form. You're limited to the natural abilities of the mob you've become, such as a ghast's fireball attacks or a bat's flight.
What mobs can I transform into?
The mod supports transformation into most common Minecraft mobs, including striders, bats, ghasts, endermen, and others. Check the mod's feature list or in-game for the complete roster of available forms.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is generally lightweight, but transforming frequently or in heavily modded instances may have minor performance impact. If you experience issues, check that your other mods aren't conflicting and adjust your render distance if needed.
Will this mod work with other mods that change mobs or player models?
Most mods are compatible, but mods that heavily modify mob rendering or player models may cause visual conflicts. Test compatibility in your world and check mod documentation if you encounter issues with specific mod combinations.
