Troubleshoot Missing Death Sounds

Why You Might Not Hear the Wither Sound

If players are dying but you're not hearing the distinctive Wither boss noise, several factors could be responsible.

Common Reasons for Silent Deaths

Wrong death type: The mod only plays sounds for weapon kills, mob defeats, and explosions. Deaths from lava, drowning, fall damage, or the void won't trigger audio. Check how the player actually died.

Out of range: If you're using local mode (default), you must be within 500 blocks of the death location. Move closer to the area where the death occurred.

Global mode not enabled: Verify that global mode is active by typing /function global_sound:global_on in chat. This ensures you hear sounds from anywhere.

Game sound muted: Check your Minecraft volume settings and ensure master volume and mob sounds aren't muted in the audio menu.

Mod not loaded: Confirm the mod appears in your mod list when you load the world. If missing, the mod may not be properly installed.

Try re-enabling global mode and testing with a weapon kill to isolate the issue.
