How to Find and Locate Dungeons Arise Structures

Understanding Structure Spawning

When Dungeons Arise adds its dungeons as world-generation features, so they only appear in newly generated chunks. If you are playing on an existing world, you must travel beyond chunks you have already loaded. The mod's structures are deliberately rare and large, meaning you may need to explore a significant distance before encountering one.

Practical Search Methods

  • Use the /locate command if the mod registers its structures with the game's structure registry. Try /locate structure and check the autocomplete list for names added by the mod.
  • If commands are unavailable, craft or obtain a structure-finding item from vanilla (such as an explorer map from a cartographer villager) — though these typically only point to vanilla structures, not modded ones.
  • Travel by boat along coastlines or by elytra at high altitude. Large dungeons often have tall spires, domes, or walls visible from a distance, making aerial scouting efficient.
  • Bring a spyglass to scan the horizon for unusual silhouettes that do not match vanilla terrain.

What to Watch For

Dungeons Arise structures tend to be enormous compared to vanilla dungeons. Look for massive stone brick complexes, towering spires, or sprawling walled compounds. Because they generate across multiple biomes, you may find them in plains, deserts, jungles, or even oceans. Mark coordinates with a banner or note them down so you can return after preparing gear.
