Wh Npcs Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start editing an NPC after I spawn one?
Hold the Memorion Feather in your main hand and right-click the NPC to open the visual editor. From there you can access all menus for dialogue, schedules, combat, and shops.
Can I make dialogue choices that only appear if the player has a certain item?
Yes, in the dialogue tree editor you can set conditions on individual choices, including item requirements, reputation thresholds, flags, and permissions.
How do I make an NPC walk around on a schedule?
Open the NPC editor and go to the Daily Schedule section, then set waypoints and times for when the character should walk, stand, sit, or sleep throughout the day.
What happens if I give an NPC a shop but don't set a restock timer?
The shop will still work, but items won't restock automatically—players can only buy what's in the initial inventory until you manually refill it or set a restock schedule.
Can multiple NPCs share the same dialogue tree or do I have to rebuild it each time?
Use the Clone Book to copy an NPC's entire configuration including dialogue, schedules, and shops to a new NPC, which is faster than rebuilding from scratch.
How do I make an NPC only sell items if the player has high reputation with a faction?
In the shop editor, set a reputation requirement on individual trade slots or the entire shop—players below that reputation score won't see or access those items.
Can I play custom music or sounds during specific dialogue lines?
Yes, in the dialogue editor you can attach sound or music tracks to individual dialogue nodes, and they'll play when that line is displayed.
What combat styles can NPCs use?
NPCs can be equipped with melee, ranged, magic, potion-throwing, and shield combat styles, each with customizable attack patterns and behavior.
Do trigger blocks work with redstone or do they only run NPC actions?
Trigger blocks are invisible blocks that run NPC actions (like dialogue or animations) when players walk over them, but they don't interact with redstone circuits.
Will this mod cause lag if I have many NPCs with complex dialogue and daily schedules?
Performance depends on your setup, but NPCs with active schedules and frequent dialogue checks can impact tick speed—test with your target NPC count and optimize schedules if needed.
