Toggling the Lantern On and Off

The Waylight lantern can be controlled manually whenever you need it, regardless of lighting conditions. This is useful when you want to conserve the lantern's appearance or test different lighting scenarios.

How to Toggle

Press the keybind to turn your lantern on or off instantly. By default, this is a configurable hotkey—check your controls menu under mod settings to see which key is assigned, or rebind it to something more convenient.

When you toggle the lantern off manually, it will stay off until you press the key again, even if you walk into a dark cave. The auto-light feature (which turns the lantern on in dark areas) will resume working once you toggle it back on.

Combining Manual and Automatic Control

You can freely switch between manual control and automatic mode. If auto-light is enabled in your settings, the lantern will automatically activate in darkness—but you can still override this by pressing the toggle key. This gives you full flexibility to manage your lighting as you explore.
