Set Up Auto-Light for Cave Exploration

Understanding Auto-Light

The auto-light feature automatically turns your lantern on when you enter dark areas and turns it off when you step into sunlight. This hands-free behavior is perfect for cave exploration, allowing you to focus on mining and navigation without manually toggling the light.

Configuring Auto-Light Sensitivity

Open your Waylight Mod settings and find the Auto-light Threshold option. This setting controls how dark the environment needs to be before the lantern activates automatically.

Adjust the threshold value to suit your preference:

• Lower values mean the lantern activates only in very dark conditions
• Higher values mean the lantern activates in dimmer lighting

Test different settings while exploring caves to find the sweet spot where the lantern turns on exactly when you need it.

Water and Auto-Light

The lantern automatically turns off when you enter water and start swimming, then reactivates when you surface or leave the water. This prevents unnecessary light emission underwater and is a built-in safety feature.
