Verify Blocks Are Waxed Before Placing Them

Double-Checking Before Building

When you're about to place copper blocks in your build, you want to ensure you're using the right type—especially if you've collected blocks from multiple sources.

Verification process:

1. Hold the copper block in your cursor or hotbar slot

2. Look at the item icon in your inventory or hotbar

3. Check for the yellow honey dot

4. If the dot is present, the block is waxed and won't oxidize further

5. If there's no dot, the block is unwaxed and will oxidize over time

Preventing Placement Mistakes

This quick visual check takes only a second but prevents the frustration of placing unwaxed blocks in areas where you wanted the oxidation to stop. If you're building a structure where you want to preserve a specific color—like fresh copper or a particular weathered stage—always verify the yellow dot is visible before placing blocks. This is especially important when working with multiple oxidation stages in the same build.
