Wave Defense Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start making my first arena?
Press V to open the main menu, then use the in-game interface to select a location and set up spawn points for players and monsters. The menu will guide you through naming your arena and choosing between PvE waves, PvP matches, or battle royale mode.
What's the difference between the PvP modes?
Standard mode has teams fight in rounds with a buying phase between each one; Deathmatch lets players respawn infinitely and race to a kill target; Battle Royale drops everyone randomly and shrinks the playable area over time.
How do I set up the shop and what can players buy?
Press B during a match to open the shop, or use the main menu to edit it beforehand—you set custom prices for weapons, armor, and items that players purchase with points earned from kills. You can display items in a grid or list view depending on your preference.
Can I get my normal inventory back after leaving an arena?
Yes, the mod automatically saves your inventory when you enter a battle and restores it when you leave using the G key or by finishing the match.
How do triggers work and when would I use them?
Triggers let you set conditions for events—for example, you can make the shop only open after wave three completes, or spawn a boss when players reach a certain score. Set them up in the arena configuration menu.
What happens if I want to remove a player from an arena mid-match?
Use the command `/wavedefense kick ` to force them to leave, or open the control menu with `/wavedefense menu ` to manage them individually.
How do I teleport players into an arena?
Use `/wavedefense tp ` where location is your arena name and players is who you want to send in—this is useful for starting matches without players having to navigate manually.
Can I edit arena rules without restarting the mod?
Yes, use `/wavedefense reload` to refresh all your saved arena data after making changes, or edit settings directly through the in-game menus without touching any files.
What do I do if my arena data gets corrupted or lost?
Run `/wavedefense reload` to refresh the mod's data from your saved files; if that doesn't work, check the Mods menu Config settings to verify the mod is loading your arena data correctly.
Can I run multiple arenas at the same time with different groups of players?
Yes, you can create and manage multiple arenas independently—use the location selection menu to switch between them, and use teleport commands to send different player groups to different arenas simultaneously.
