VTDownloader Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open VTDownloader in Minecraft?
Open the resource pack selection screen from Options, then click the VTDownloader button added there. The download browser opens directly in-game, so you don't need to leave Minecraft.
Do I need to be online to use VTDownloader?
Yes, the mod fetches the Vanilla Tweaks pack list and downloads files from the internet, so you need an active connection. If the browser shows nothing or fails to load, check your connection and try again.
Where do downloaded Vanilla Tweaks packs go?
VTDownloader saves them straight into your resource packs folder for the current Minecraft instance. After downloading, they appear in the resource pack list and can be enabled like any other pack.
Do I have to enable the pack manually after downloading?
Yes, downloading only places the pack in your resource packs folder. You still need to move it to the selected side and apply it in the resource pack screen.
Can I pick which Vanilla Tweaks options I want before downloading?
Yes, the in-game browser lets you choose the pack and its options the same way the Vanilla Tweaks website does. The mod builds the pack from your selections and downloads the finished result.
Why does VTDownloader only show some packs or options?
The list comes from Vanilla Tweaks, so anything they add, rename, or remove will be reflected in the browser. If something looks missing, refresh the browser or restart the game to pull the current list.
Can I use VTDownloader on a server or with other mods?
VTDownloader is client-side and only affects your own resource packs, so it works fine on servers and alongside other mods. The packs it downloads are normal resource packs, so they follow the same compatibility rules as any other pack.
Does VTDownloader work with mod loaders like Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge?
The mod is offered for the major loaders, so install the build that matches your loader and Minecraft version. If the button doesn't appear, you likely have the wrong build for your setup.
Will VTDownloader slow down my game?
The mod itself is lightweight and only does work while you're browsing or downloading. Any performance impact you notice afterward usually comes from the resource packs you enabled, not from the downloader.
Can I delete packs VTDownloader downloaded, and will it re-download them?
Yes, they're ordinary resource packs, so you can remove them from the resource packs folder at any time. If you want them back, just run the download again through the in-game browser.
