How to Set Up Roomscale VR in Minecraft VR Mod
Before You Enter the World
Roomscale play means Minecraft blocks map to real-world meters, so your physical room becomes your play space. Before launching, clear an area at least as large as the guardian/boundary you configured in your VR runtime (SteamVR or Oculus). Set up your play boundary first, then start Minecraft with the VR client installed.
Calibrating Your Position
Once you load a world, the mod places your VR camera relative to your standing position. If your view feels too high or too low, use the mod's in-game VR settings menu to adjust player height and world scale. Recentering your headset through your VR runtime's dashboard will re-anchor your position to where you're standing.
Movement and Interaction
- Physically walk around your room to move short distances; the world scrolls with you.
- Use your controller's thumbstick or trackpad for longer travel, since your room is finite.
- Aim your dominant hand controller to target blocks, and pull the trigger to mine or place.
- Reach out physically to interact with nearby blocks and chests.
Avoiding Boundary Issues
If you drift outside your play area, the runtime's boundary grid appears. Step back inside before continuing. Keep furniture and pets out of the space, and consider a small mat at your center point so you can find your footing by feel.
