VoxelMap X Seedmapper Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the map for the first time?
Press the map key (default is M) to open your fullscreen map, or look for the minimap in the corner of your screen. If you don't see either, check your keybinds in the mod settings to make sure the map key isn't conflicting with another mod.
What's the difference between the minimap and fullscreen map?
The minimap shows a small live view in your screen corner with basic icons and your current location, while the fullscreen map lets you zoom, pan, search for structures, and view a much larger area of your world. Use the fullscreen map for planning routes and the minimap for quick navigation.
How do I find a specific structure without using commands?
Open your fullscreen map, click on the Locator settings tab, and select the structure type you want to find from the menu. The mod will mark the nearest one with an icon that you can click to create a waypoint.
Can I search for items inside chests without visiting every one?
Yes—use the /seedmap locate loot command or open the Loot Viewer screen from your map menu to search for specific items by name. Click any result to highlight the exact chest location on your map.
Why aren't my old waypoints showing up?
The mod should automatically import waypoints from other popular map mods when you first load it. If they're still missing, check that the import setting is enabled in your mod config and that the waypoints file exists in your world folder.
How do I highlight ores without highlighting everything else?
Use the /seedmap highlight ore command to draw boxes around only the ore type you specify, or open the in-game ESP settings menu to customize which blocks get highlighted and what color they appear.
Does block highlighting work through walls?
Yes—that's the main purpose of the highlighting feature. Ores, caves, and canyons will show through solid blocks so you can see them from a distance and plan your mining route.
My map is lagging when I zoom out far. What can I do?
Enable performance mode in your map settings—this reduces rendering detail when you zoom out very far and should improve frame rates without losing important information.
Do I need to be online or use a website to find structures and biomes?
No—the mod reads your world seed directly from your game client, so all locating and mapping happens offline without needing external websites or tools.
Can I jump my map view to a specific coordinate?
Yes—open your fullscreen map and use the coordinate input field to type in exact X and Z coordinates, and your map view will instantly jump to that location.
