Set Up Voice Chat for the First Time

Install and Link Your Account

Before you can hear other players, you need to connect the companion app to your Minecraft account.

1. Download and open the companion app on your phone or computer

2. Select Server mode and enter your server room code

3. The app will display a unique verification command

4. Copy this command exactly as shown

5. Open Minecraft and paste the command into chat: /vcmc:verify <code>

6. Make sure you're using the same username or Gamertag as your app account

Test Your Microphone

Once linked, open the voice menu to confirm everything works:

• Type /vcmc:menu in chat
• Check your microphone is unmuted (use /vcmc:m true if needed)
• Speak normally—nearby players should hear you based on distance
• Adjust your personal volume settings in the menu

If you don't hear other players, check that they're within voice range and also linked to the app.
